Μουσική δημιουργία και πολιτική κράτηση. Λέρος, 1971: τα 16 Τραγούδια της εξορίας

Abstract : This text offers a brief historical and musicological research on a rare artistic document: the clandestine recording of original songs, which took place during the dictatorship of the Greek Colonels (1967-74), at the end of 1970-beginning of 1971, in the camp of concentration of Partheni, on the island of Leros. Thanks to Dimitri Ypsilantis, political prisoner of the dictatorship, the recording is available, as are the circumstances in which these songs were written. This research is accompanied by an analysis of the role of music in conditions of detention - a field which is beginning to interest musicology -, particularly in the context of "survival groups" organized by political prisoners during the dictatorship of Metaxas, the Greek civil war or the dictatorship of 1967.
