Antroduodenectomy with gastroduodenostomy (Billroth I technique) for perforated duodenal peptic ulcer
Antroduodénectomie avec anastomose gastroduodénale selon la technique de Péan pour ulcère duodénal peptique perforé
Résumé
The incidence of peptic ulcer disease and related complications has decreased markedly over the past years, essentially due to medical therapy with proton pump inhibitors and widespread antibiotic eradication of Helicobacter pylori. The indications for emergency surgery have also decreased because of increasing use of endoscopy and interventional radiology for complications such as bleeding. However, when these modalities fail or are unavailable, surgery still has its place.
