Anisotropic models and angular moments methods for the Compton scattering

This paper is devoted to the derivation of models for the Compton scattering. These models generalize the Kompaneets equation [KOM57] to anisotropic distributions. The P1 angular method is applied, leading to a system of nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations. We show that there is a limit regime in which this P1 model exhibits new solutions, in comparison with the Bose condensate result of Caflish and Levermore [CL86] for the Kompaneets equation.
