Celluloid Dreams in Shashi Tharoor's Show Business

Résumé

This paper explores the dynamics that sustain the 'life imitating art' of filmdom. It focuses on Shashi Tharoor's narrative artifice of tampering with scripts and configuring 'illusion' as the only reality in the multi-dimensional fictional space of Show Business. This study considers the postmodern tenet that insists that art, writing and literature are interconnected, and are all prolongations of and reactions to other traditions.
