Mechanistic study of two palladium-catalyzed coupling
Étude des mécanismes de deux couplages palladocatalysés
Résumé
In this thesis, two mechanistic studies of palladium-catalyzed reactions are presented. The first study focuses on the Buchwald-Hartwig amination conducted in a polar protic solvent. It was performed by combining different analytical techniques – multi-nucleus NMR, conductometry, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry – in order to identify several intermediates formed during the course of the reaction. This study led us to the optimization of the reaction conditions and a detailed understanding of the catalytic process enable the simplification of the system and to extend the scope of the reaction. The second study concerns the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of nitroarenes developed on PDI-NO₂ with Pd(PPh₃)₄ under mild conditions, in contradiction with what is generally proposed for nitroarenes. We present here a preliminary study performed in order to understand the specificity of nitroperylenediimides and if possible, to extend this catalytic system to other molecules than PDI-NO₂.
