Faut-il distinguer le lexique de l'ontologie ?

Abstract : The object of this paper is the distinction between lexicon and ontology highlighted by conceptual conflict. Firstly, we argue that the separation –and the independence– between lexicon and ontology is the ground of the phenomenon of polysemy. Secondly, we draw a phenomenology of the interactions between lexicon and ontology. This phenomenology can cast light on the link between polysemy and lexical solidarities, and on the relationship between arbitrary and motivation as regards conceptual metaphors.
