Résumé
Surrounded throughout his life by renowned photographers, Sorolla always maintained a privileged relationship with photography. This study investigates the actual role that the photographic medium played in the painter's life and what impact it had on his artistic creation. We begin with the consideration of the photographic object as a heuristic element that allows us to shed new light on Sorolla's work, inviting us to examine from a different angle the regional,
national and international character of his painting. We will focus first on the photographic environment of the artist, before exploring the painter’s varied used of this new medium.
Rodeado durante toda su vida de fotógrafos de renombre, Sorolla siempre mantuvo una relación privilegiada con la fotografía. Se tratará en este estudio de ver cuál fue realmente el papel del medio fotográfico en la vida del pintor y qué impacto tuvo en su creación artística. Partiremos del objeto fotográfico considerado como elemento heurístico que permite arrojar nueva luz sobre la obra sorollesca, invitándonos a plantear bajo otra perspectiva la cuestión del carácter a la vez
regional, nacional e internacional de su pintura. Nos interesaremos primero en este entorno fotográfico propio del artista y cuestionaremos luego las posibles explotaciones de esta nueva técnica por el pintor.
