"Aux sources du débat écologique contemporain : l'expérience américaine"
Abstract
Although the protection of the environment has become a major concern over the past fifty years, it is still failing to become a priority of the global political agenda. This paper attempts to show to what extent the history of American environmentalism still informs our understanding of what an ecological policy should be and points to what we can learn of the political, social and philosophical debate on nature that appeared in the US in the second half of the 19th century.
