« Remarques sur la date de rédaction du De cerimoniis »,
Abstract
The writing of the De ceremonies is generally dated to the end of the personal reign of its author, Constantine VII (after 956). But strong arguments lead to date this writing to the beginning of this reign: the book I was written in 945-946 and the book II completed in 950 or soon after. Consequently, the emperor composed his great treaty on the imperial taxis on the wake of his return to effective power.
