Namibia Palaeontology Expedition May
Résumé
The aim of the field survey by the Namibia Palaeontology Expedition in May-June 2025, was to prospect for fossils in the Miocene deposits in the Sperrgebiet (Phase 1, Fig. 1) and in the Miocene to Pleistocene karstic deposits of the Otavi Mountainland (Phase 2, Fig.1) in order to throw light on their geological and palaeoenvironmental contexts and ages. The work of the expedition, which has been operating since 1991, is authorised by the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology and the National Heritage Council of Namibia.
