Haine du théâtre, haine des femmes : fascination et censure dans la réflexion théorique et dans la pratique théâtrale italiennes au XVIIIe siècle
Résumé
The paper explores the relationship between the exhibition of the female body on the stage in the 18th c. and antitheatricality. By analyzing various pronouncements of Riccoboni, Concina, Maffei and Goldoni, it highlights a tension between a reforming and moralizing theoretical line, which accepts with difficulty the presence and eroticizing effects of women on the stage, and a theatrical practice which makes deliberate use of the female body and its power of fascination.
L’article explore le lien entre le discours antithéâtral et l’exposition du corps de la femme sur la scène au XVIIIe s. En analysant les observations de Riccoboni, Concina, Maffei et Goldoni, il met en évidence la tension entre une ligne théorique réformatrice et moralisante, qui accepte malaisément la présence de la femme et l’érotisation du théâtre, et une pratique théâtrale, qui fonde son succès sur l’utilisation consciente et ciblée du pouvoir de fascination du corps féminin.
